Since May, my team and I have dedicated our time to deliver the City’s budget.

This summer on the west side of the City, the Recreation and Park Department plans to host three concerts at the Polo Field in Golden Gate Park.
Our city government budget is a statement of San Francisco’s values, and it has never been more important than at this moment – a moment when we face fascist attacks from our federal government.
Last month, Mayor Daniel Lurie and Board of Supervisors President Rafael Mandelman supported my efforts to advance a package of legislation to modernize the City’s aging firefighting apparatuses.
As we embark on the City’s budget season, I wanted to provide an update on a number of city projects impacting the Richmond District. We are seeing many changes to our neighborhood, and I want to make sure you are aware of what is happening, why it is happening and how you can be involved.
Since Jan. 20, we have seen outsized attacks on the values we hold dear as San Franciscans, including protections for our vulnerable communities, our immigrant community and our LGBTQ+ community, especially our transgender youth. I am proud of our San Francisco city and community leaders, who have come together to denounce these hateful policies and solidified our City’s commitment to protecting our vulnerable and marginalized communities.
The District 1 team is currently working on a number of legislative efforts to deliver housing and stability for the Richmond District.
I would really like to see Connie Chan host a “Coffee with Connie” monthly meet-up with Richmond District neighbors. I remember when former Supervisor Eric Mar did it. I attended a couple of meetings and found them to be productive, and Eric took the time to listen to neighbors.
Happy 2025, everyone! I am immensely proud of the work we did together for the last four years, advancing policies to make San Francisco and the Richmond District work for all of us. This could not have been done without the amazing District 1 team.
As we wrap up 2024, I would like to take a moment to look back on all the work we accomplished together.
Connie Chan is celebrating her election victory, earning a second term as District 1 supervisor. Chan, an incumbent, ultimately edged out Marjan Philhour in a tight race that required three rounds of ballot counting.
I want to take a moment to say THANK YOU to Assemblymember Phil Ting as his final term comes to an end this month.
If you do not feel that the Richmond is better off today, then I urge my neighbors to join me in supporting Marjan Philhour for supervisor.
Marjan Philhour and her husband have both worked for London Breed and Marjan will be nothing but a rubber stamp for what Breed wants, if either of them get elected.
August’s DNC has many of us in SF hopeful for the direction of our country – with a prevailing sentiment that we’re all in this together and as one unified nation, we deserve a leader who supports the people first.
