Chan, Mandelman and Other Politicians Arrested at May Day Rally

On May Day 2026, hundreds of people marched with union members at the San Francisco International Airport, who are currently in contract negotiations hoping for better pay. According to media reports the San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) says 25 people were arrested, including District 1 Supervisor and U.S. Congressional candidate Connie Chan, California State Senator Josh Becker, San Francisco Supervisor Rafael Mandelman and a former San Francisco Supervisor, Jane Kim, who is now running for California’s Insurance Commissioner. 

Police says they were all cited and then released at the scene.
