Brandishing a Weapon: Irving Street and 30th Avenue, Aug. 8, 3:19 a.m.

The victim left his job as a bartender and was riding his bicycle home. The victim told officers that he observed a vehicle being driven erratically and running numerous stop signs. The victim confronted the driver. The suspect followed the victim and, at one point, exited his vehicle while holding a tire iron in an aggressive manner. The victim called the police, and the suspect drove away.

Assault: West Portal Avenue and Ulloa Street, Aug. 15, 2:16 p.m.

Officers responded to a report of an assault. The victim, a Muni transit operator, told officers that the suspect began banging on the conductor’s booth and demanded to be let out. The victim stopped the train and opened the door. The suspect then blocked the entrance to the conductor’s booth.

The victim told officers that the suspect appeared to be intoxicated. The suspect struck the victim with a can of beer and later threw the can at the victim, striking him in the head. The suspect left the scene. Officers later located the suspect and arrested him.

Under the Influence: Irving Street and Ninth Avenue, Aug. 26, 2:35 a.m.

Officers responded to a report of a suspect brandishing a knife. Officers detained the suspect, who was highly intoxicated. The suspect told officers that he did have a pocketknife and that he had taken it out to protect himself. After further investigation and speaking with the reporting party, the suspect was transported to Taraval Station and detained until sober.
